  • Welcome

Welcome to the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMCCC) shRNA Core Facility. The facility is located on the third floor of the Life Sciences Institute, room 3338, 2nd Lab from the end, on the left, with respect to entry.

    News: most recent first

07/10/2008: The shRNA Core Facility has ordered and received the two extended
releases for the Human pGIPZ collection, all searchable items are now available.

***06/25/2008: MDRTC members are now eligible for a 50% discount on shRNA clones and plasmids, if you are a member, please select the appropriate check box on the service request form.

08/14/2007: The twelfth release (7.12) from the Mouse pGIPZ lentiviral shRNAmir construct set has arrived from Open Biosystems and has been added to our library collection for immediate distribution as individual clones, purified plasmid, or as lentivirus. To obtain a full list of all available constructs, within this release, please select the following link to download or view the corresponding Open Biosystems data file (7.12), or use the "Request shRNA Clones" link, above, to search for targeted genes of interest within the entire available library.

***04/19/2007: In addition to PrimePlus bacterial stocks and lentivirus production, the shRNA Core Facility is now providing purified plasmid for all UM investigators (pGIPZ shRNA constructs only). All plasmids will be purified using Qiagen Midi Kits, yielding 150-300ug, assessed using NanoDrop technology, unless otherwise specified. If you are interested in receiving prepared plasmid, please select "plasmid" from the drop-down menu on the Service Request Form. Note: please contact the shRNA core to inquire about tentative pricing.

***04/19/2007: We are now providing user-designed custom pools. If you are interested in targeting a specific pathway, ABI has put together several "virtual lists" corresponding to various biological pathways, which may be a useful resource for your pool designs. Please contact the shRNA core to further discuss your plans as well as associated costs.

***01/11/2007: The shRNA Core has obtained the pGIPZ empty vector as well as two positive controls, GAPDH and EG5, and a scrambled-sequence, non-silencing negative control. All of the previous listed are now available for immediate distribution in bacterial stock (4ml aliquots). If you would like to purchase any of the controls or the empty vector, please complete the service request form on the "Request shRNA Clones" page, of this site.

***01/01/2007: Several Pools from the Human shRNAmir lentiviral collection are now available! Please visit the "Request Pools" page to obtain a list of all currently available pools; approximately 4-5 new pools will be made available for purchase each week. If you would like to obtain any of our pools please use the "Pool Request Form", located on the Request Pools page of this site.

12/07/2006: The shRNA core is proud to announce the arrival of the first release (7.01) of the pGIPZ mouse lentiviral shRNAmir clone set from Open Biosystems, which has been added to our library collection for immediate distribution as individual clones. Please visit the Open Biosystems 7.01 data file to obtain a full list of all available constructs, within the release, or use the "Request shRNA Clones" link, above, to search for targeted genes of interest within the entire available library.

***11/17/2006: The shRNA core facility will be displaying a poster at the Comprehensive Cancer Center's poster symposium on Friday November 17th, between 9:00am and 4:00pm in the Towsley Lobby. We will be present to answer any questions you may have, from 12:30pm to 2:00pm. If you are unable to attend, please feel free to view our poster by selecting the above link.
